What We Believe
STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, and is the final authority for Christian faith and living.
God is a self-existent being. He exists eternally as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and has revealed himself to be perfect in love, righteous in all His ways, and Creator of all things.
Jesus Christ is God’s eternal Son. As true God and true man, He allowed Himself to be born of a virgin, taught men how to live by the example of His sinless life, was crucified as an atoning sacrifice for our sins, arose bodily from the dead, was seen by over 500 persons, returned to Heaven to prepare a place for us, and is coming again to judge all men.
Adam and Eve were created in God’s image, were tempted by Satan, and rebelled against God, thus causing all men to fall under condemnation. Through repentance and personal faith in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven of our sins, reborn by the Holy Spirit, and we become children of God.
The Holy Spirit, who is eternal God and the third person of the Trinity, persuades us to repent of our sins and confess Jesus as Lord. He lives in us, teaches us, and enables us to live godly lives and to grow in spiritual maturity through obedience to the Word of God.
The Church is the living body of Christ on earth; Jesus is its head and the source of its life. The Body is composed of those who have received Him as Savior and Lord and are committed to one another, existing to celebrate the life of God, cultivate personal growth in Christ, care about one another in Christ, and communicate the gospel of Christ to the world.
Jesus Christ will return to earth to raise the dead, judge all humanity, and establish His glorious Kingdom. When he returns all believers will receive a new glorified body fit for eternal living. This is the hope of the Church. Those who have been reborn by the Spirit will live with and serve Him forever.
