I Heart North County
I Heart North County is New Community's local outreach initiative that mobilizes our community to feed the hungry and meet the needs of the poor in order to build relationships with them and show them the love of Christ.
Most recently we have adopted an 85-unit mobile home park one mile away from New Community. This community is occupied by hard-working, low income families in need of food, conversation, and love. As this project grows we'll be seeking God's will toward adopting more neighborhoods.
I Heart North County Teams regularly distribute bags of groceries provided by the people of the church. Teams are often called on to provide assistance with things such as minor home repairs or broken appliances. Each week at the I Heart North County Homework Club, teams of volunteer tutors come into the neighborhood to help the children with their schoolwork. At home, many of the neighborhood children may not have a good environment to concentrate on their homework or anyone there that can help them, but at the Homework Club they are offered a healthy snack and a helping hand.
