Idea of the Future
2/17/19 An Idea of the Future series, Pastor Justin
Based on Matthew 11:28-30; John 16:33; Psalm 88:1-9; Matthew 9:36; John 6:35; 1 John 5:3
Read Matthew 11:28-30, who was Jesus talking to and why would the visual of a yoke with animals make sense to them?
Read John 16:33, as Jesus followers, how do we walk in this world in a way that our eternal victory transforms our present reality?
When we fall into a "working for God" self-dependence mode, the enemy uses our restlessness to: 1. Uproot our belief 2. undermine our pursuit of Jesus 3. labor in our own strength. How has this played out in your life?
Read Psalm 88:1-9, share a season in your life when you related to the psalmist posture of "I have nothing and I need you". Where did you turn for rest and strength then and where do you turn now?
How have you experienced God's faithfulness to provide rest and strength when you turn towards him in times of weariness?
Read John 6:35 and 1 John 5:3, how are you living for the work and kingdom of Jesus, dependent upon Jesus? What does this look like for you?
